The Passion of Bulldogs

In 1997, I bought 31 acres in Arkabutla, Mississippi. I also bought 3 small size goats to help clear my land of poison ivy and kudzu. These goats were so sweet, they were eating out of my hand. In a week, 2 of the 3 goats were killed by coyotes. I vowed to have the best farm protection dog available.

In the late 1960s, I was at a family reunion in Georgia, when my family spoke of bulldogs being the best farm dogs. I was told that bulldogs love the farm animals and would fight to the death to protect them. I was also told bulldogs were good for rounding up unruly cattle and swine. I was even told that bulldogs could be used for hunting anything from 'coons to bears.

I also learned of two old types of bulldogs that were brought into the Deep South. One being from the days of bull baiting in England, the other being from the Spanish.

We register our dogs with the BBC.
