The CWE and the WKSD
White Kazbegi dog CWE of Georgia USA The White Kazbegi Shepherd Dog is found in an isolated region deep within the Caucus Mountains of Georgia, having been driven there from the vast grasslands of Central Asia by the Huns during the 4th century AD. "The last remains of the one time mighty Alans (according to some sources – just 10-12 thousand people) were locked up for almost five centuries within the highland Caucasian mountain gorges. During this time all of the international ties of Ossetians were limited with contacts with neighboring nations. It is for this reason that little was mentioned about them in historical sources during that time. But, as Russians say, bad things are always accompanied by good things. According to several modern historians Ossetians have succeeded in preserving their unique language, culture, traditions and religion due in large part to this lengthy isolation." Ossetians.com Thus, descending from the Aryans Proper, a race of people have long introduced a race of dogs from pre-historic times to the Indo-Iranians. "This explanations
says that the Persians and other related people were merely Middle
Easterners who borrowed the culture and language from the true nomadic
Aryans. Of course, it could also be that the origin of the true Aryans
might not even be the correct one. This was indeed the case, as more
recent studies have shown that R1a, the "Indo-Iranian marker"
originated around the area of North India/Pakistan/Southern Iran. How
could the Aryans (supposedly from northern Eurasia) have originated in the
place they went to last? Unless the connection between R1a and Aryans is
incorrect, then we get a clearer picture. But don't throw all past
theories away, old knowledge needs to be modified to fit what we now know.
White Kazbegi dog CWE of Georgia USA We do not claim the CWE to be THE ALAUNT, rather of the traditional alaunt type, in both form and function. The Alaunt was brought by the Alans to Europe during the 4th and 5th centuries AD, specifically France and Spain, as a guard dog for livestock and as a war dog and is the basic breed type of the White English Bulldog. The Alaunt descends from the vast grasslands of Asia as a Shepherd's Dog of cattle (a word that once included all livestock). Bulldog refers to this original type cattle guarding dog. The various Shepherd's Dogs of Central Asia today are believed to be the oldest and purist in form in the Caucus Mts. of Georgia and the Turkmenistan areas. The dogs born naturally bob-tailed are considered to be the very purist specimens of the breed and are highly prized. These areas are just south of the grasslands of the Alans, who were nomadic herdsmen in search of grazing lands. The Alans and their Alaunts are alive and well. Ossetians.com
