Membership
One basic rule must be absolute honesty. "There is no malice intended by telling the truth." Ray Lane
The WEBPS is a non-competitive group, breeding non-competitive dogs. If competition, either in breeding or with dogs, is what your looking for, please feel free to look elsewhere. The WEBPS is an exclusive, members only group of owners and breeders dedicated to the preservation of the traditional farmer's White English Bulldog. We do not breed for nor do we advocate the practice of using the WEB as a hunting dog, a modern sport that is contrary to it's longstanding and original function as a protector of cattle, farm and family. Nor do we advocate the breeding of or use of the CWE for PP / Sch. training. Membership to the W.E.B.P.S. is by application and on some occasions, by invitation. Applications can only be received by contacting us directly. Our application process is in-depth and stringent, as we adhere to a very strict, unforgiving standard for the W.E.B. Since we are a group with the sole purpose of preserving this incredible breed, we must adhere to such strict standards. Membership Levels Basic - The basic membership level is for those with no plans on breeding the WEB. This is strictly for registration purposes. There is a one time non-refundable application fee of $100.00. To ensure that basic members are not breeding, if more than one dog of the opposite sex is to be registered, we require veterinary documentation (that we will verify), that one or both dogs have been either spayed or neutered, before we will grant approval for registration. If members in this level decide to become breeders, the $100.00 application fee is credited and the remaining $50.00 Breeder Level Membership Fee is due, as well, a $25.00 yearly membership fee will be due upon the change in membership levels. Yearly dues we be due on the membership start date. Breeder - The breeder level is for those who are breeding or plan to breed the WEB. There is a one time non-refundable application fee of $150.00 and a yearly membership fee of $25.00. Yearly dues are due on the membership start date. All fees go directly towards the maintenance of the WEBPS web-page, (including monthly IP charges), secretarial duties, mail, printing charges, and the application process itself.
Application / Termination Process Our application process is very in-depth and stringent. Once an application has been received, the process begins. This includes several telephone interviews over a period of weeks and the actual viewing of the applicant's dogs and the parents of their dogs. Based mainly on the interviews and dogs themselves, we will determine if applicants may be granted membership. Applicants and members must prove themselves by their actions, not their words. New members under the BREEDER LEVEL MEMBERSHIP, are probationary members until they have produced a minimum of three consistent litters that meet the WEBPS standard. After such time, probationary members may become full members. Termination of membership is at the sole discretion of the charter members of the WEBPS. Members may report other members believed to be violating the statutes and or objectives of the WEBPS to the charter members. A thorough investigation will be implemented by the charter members in a joint effort to determine the validity of the report. Members will be informed immediately if they have been reported and are being investigated. If a report is founded, membership can and will be terminated. Once a member has been terminated, they will be banned from membership to the WEBPS for life. All member dues and fees are non-refundable. Being a part of the WEBPS is a serious commitment that requires complete cooperation from it's members. As well, it requires active participation in breeding the WEB. We welcome any interest from those familiar with the WEB; their input, experiences, photos, etc. "To
put it concisely: breeders who cover up hereditary defects occurring in litters
are acting as gravediggers to a breed. Breed clubs that continue to disregard
hereditary deficiencies, such as lack of maternal instinct in the brood-bitch or
mating instinct in the stud dog, should be excluded from the privileges of the responsible
kennel club."
